Cat Mom with Pottery Dreams
Hello my name is Anissa Marie, I'm a pottery/ceramic artist specializing in functional and wearable art.
I was introduced to pottery while taking art classes in Austin Texas. I fell in love instantly, making over 200 pieces in the semester, when most in my class were making 5 pieces. I was making pottery in every free moment I had. I knew from the first piece I made that this was what I was born to do, and that it would be my destiny.
A creative, maker, designer and artist at heart, I also dabble in Photography, Sewing, and Graphic Design. I have a BS in Liberal Studies with a double minor in Sociology and Psychology, and a Professional Certificate in Graphic Design. I attended Vermont College of Fine Arts, as well as Austin Community College and Sessions College of Design.
I joined the Army when I was 42 years old because I wanted to give back and serve this great country. I was a Radiology Technologist in the Army, honorably serving and caring for my fellow soldiers and veterans in various Army hospitals in San Antonio TX, Ft. Leonard Wood MO and Ft. Stewart GA. I attended the Army Medical School in San Antonio Texas and was one of only 3 soldiers out of 300 in my company who won the Army Physical Fitness award!
I'm a cat whisperer and cat mom of two adorable rescue cats who are the love of my life. I love eating healthy, riding my bike, swimming and traveling when I'm not in the pottery studio.
Everything I sell is designed and handmade by only me in my pottery studio in Bluffton SC. All of my work comes with a little card signed by me with the name of the art piece.
